Tired of commercial and house beats? Exhausted by being surrounded by drunk freshmen? Do you get sick at the idea of hearing, for one more time, the latest song of Enrique Iglesias?
You’re lucky: Milan offers a wide variety of indie-ish, different and unique places for a nightout. If you want to get crazy on the dancefloor, but with a ear for good music and a eye for cool environments, the Milanese nightlife will satisfy all your needs. From clubs inspired to the Berlin techno music tradition, to LGBT-friendly and flamboyant discos, to something more refined and chill like a jazz cafè, routine will be long since gone. ELECTRO HEADS
“The energy that this place radiates oversteps habits and cliches. It’s the idea of a cultural revolution that changes - by night - the face and the sound of the city. It’s our declaration of love.”
Opened in 2012, Dude Club brought to the Milan nightlife the best worldwide djs of the underground and techno landscape. Price: depends on the show, generally 10-20 euros. A tip from locals: keep checking on www.residentadvisor.net for the upcoming events
“Regular tunnels have an entrance and an exit to a new "world". Here, in Via Sammartini, once inside the Tunnel you will find everything that you want and, usually, it is hard to get out.”
As a must-go stop in the Milanese clubbing map, Tunnel offers the ultimate underground (almost literally - is in fact built below the station rails of Milan Central Station) destination for techno and house music lovers, but attracts also a wider audience by hosting indie-rock concerts and hip-hop sessions. Price: same as Dude Club, prince range between 10 and 20 euros. A tip from locals: they still need to work on cocktails, you better get a beer! A RAINBOW NIGHT OUT
Club Domani is - no doubts - the best LGBT and gay-friendly (straights are welcome too!) party in Milan. On Saturdays, Plastic Club hosts Club Domani, a night with colourful drag queens and Italian disco music classics. It will be impossible not to get on the dancefloor and dance wildly!
Price: 20-25 euros on average (drink included). A tip from locals: Club Domani is ONLY on Saturdays. Be prepared for a long entrance line and very strict door selection: so show up early and dress fancy!
