Wanna know the perfect snack to refresh yourself after a long shopping session? Ever longed for something fresh, which could almost give you new life? Maybe something creamy, which would come in different tastes. Maybe you could decide the taste through a glass and ask for a taste before picking. Maybe coming in a small cup or on a wafer.
Well, you get the idea, right? Gelato is more than food, it is an experience: and here is where to live it!
Before Italy, I wasn’t much of an ice cream fanatic. That changed completely when I first went to Sioli e Bissoli, a fresh and bright ice cream parlour in the Porta Romana area. One of the staff suggested I try the “Pistacchio salato” and I fell deeply in love. It tasted so good that it changed my preconceptions about ice-cream immediately. So if you’re in Milan, Make sure your stop by, take your ice cream at one of the tables outside the place and enjoy an Italian coffee afterwards.
If you happen to be in Navigli (a must see place when in Milan), you can savor an ice cream from Amorino along the canals. The ingredients used are of high quality, organic and natural with no artificial colours or flavourings. I always find that rose shaped ice cream visually and gustatively very satisfying. This is a chain so you can find it in many other locations.
At Gusto 17, flavors change very often depending on the availability and seasonality of the raw materials and the imagination of the staff. So on a daily basis, you can experience new tastes and flavors. The name of the place comes from a concept I find very creative. Daily, you’ll have 16 flavors, plus one. The 17th flavor, is one you can create with them. So if you’re feeling inspired or if your heart has long been craving for a special flavor of your own imagination, you can make a suggestion and your flavor will come to life!
I recently moved in a new apartment in Lodi and the best thing about it is that, a few minutes away, there’s Gelateria Artiginale 22. It’s always there to cheer me up after a long day at uni. I just take a cone with “Pistacchio” and “Nonna Mia” and my evening becomes so much better.
