From the Lambrate design district, to Isola fancy streets, to the dreamery sidewalks of Navigli, vintage is the most up-to-date trend in Milan. Second-hand clothing, unique accessories and hipster furniture are the most wanted products by Milaneses, in order to both save up some money and support recycling. At very affordable prices, it’s possible to purchase the most enviable outfits, being different from everyone else.
There are many spots in Milan where you can find vintage and second-hand products, but here’s a short list of our favourite ones!
“Changing is good. Never waste, never regret”.
This is the mantra of Ambroeus Milano, a vintage store that opened its doors in Isola in 2015. The boutique promotes both sustainability and incredible deals from the most popular brands (but also from more independent and niche-ish ones!) through its unique value proposition: “Buy, Sell, Trade”. A must go stop for vintage lovers on a budget. When: Tuesday - Sunday, 10.30 am – 7.30 pm
East Market is inspired by East London Markets, where private sellers are able to expose their merch, from vintage clothing to vynils, from antiques to second-hand sneakers.
Based in Lambrate, with free entrance, on Sunday - almost once a month - it’s possible to eat all day long (food truck specialties, from Chinese ravioli to Mexican tacos) and eat Brooklyn Beer, while chilling in this unique location, a WWII industrial site, with live dj sets. When: on Sunday (check the dates on their website or facebook page), 10 am – 9 pm.
Sunday is the perfect day to take a long relaxing walk in the Navigli district: on that day, this suggestive glimpse is made even more peculiar by the Flea Market, hosted on Alzaia Naviglio Grande once a month. This Milanese tradition attracts both locals and tourists, and the many art ateliers of these streets open their doors (go check for their romantic inside gardens!) to make this experience even more dreamery. If you’re looking for a perfect gift, get lost between the stands of jewelry, antiques, clocks and paintings.
When: on the last Sunday of the month; 9.00 am – 7.00 pm.
